Don’t let your eyes fool you, this is NOT your father’s single cutaway solid body electric. While there’s no doubt the Assault 220 Plus Natural gets its influence from the Les Paul shape, the similarities end there. With its more aggressive styling, longer scale and thinner profile neck the Assault Plus is a string-through shred machine with enough tonal versatility to keep you up late every night of the week!
This Seymour-Duncan equipped beauty sounds even better than it looks. The Alternative 8 pickup in the bridge position is one of the hottest passive humbuckers in Seymour Duncan’s history. The alnico magnet adds warmth and presence to the midrange and upper mids, creating a tone that is loud and ballsy. The ’59 Classic in the neck position brings the classic warm, silky tones to offset the aggression to add a wide variety of the tonal spectrum. Both pickups are kept under control with 2-500k Audio Taper Volumes and 1- 500k Audio Taper Tone. The volume controls also feature Push/Pull Coil tapping capabilities (note the volume controls are in the pull/tap position) as well as Treble Bleed mod (.oo2mf cap). The Bleed Mod keeps the highs sparkly when you turn the volume down and can also be used to create a wide variety of tones with a slight bump of the knob.
Every Assault model features a belly scarf and a thin Mahogany body (1.5” [38.1mm] at the rim) that makes the guitar more comfortable and lightweight for hours of playing.
The solid Mahogany neck with maple fingerboard is thin and fast with the shredder preferred 25.5” scale and loaded with 24 Medium Jumbo frets
Kramer's back angled Assault headstock features 3 a side "locking", 14:1 ratio tuners to keep your tuning solid and stable and a graphite nut to keep your strings gliding smoothly and bind free.
Many of the same features are available on the Assault 220 PlusFR in the Trans Red finish with the Floyd Rose Trem system if dive bombs are a must.
